MICHELLE
Artist Statement
My work is rooted in a deep desire to tell stories that often go unheard. I am drawn to the quiet moments, the in-between spaces, and the complexity of identity. Through my writing, I explore themes of relationships, spirituality, and transformation—especially as they relate to the Black experience, womanhood, and the search for community.
I believe art has the power to heal, to challenge, and to connect us. I am guided by intuition and reverence for the ancestors who came before me. Each of my stories is a conversation—between me and the page, between the past and the present, and between the reader and their own interior world.
Ultimately, I create to make sense of the world and to offer a space where others might feel seen.
